This past weekend the CWHL Clarkson Cup finals took place in Ottawa at the Canadian Tire Centre. The two teams faced off for the cup were the Montreal Les Canadiennes and the Calgary Inferno, the #1 and #2 teams in the regular season. The 3 day event started off with the CWHL awards gala on Friday, followed by a Community Day where players participated in different events in the Ottawa area on Saturday. Then it was game day on Sunday. Coming out on top and hoisting the cup was the Calgary Inferno winning by a score of 8-3 led by their MVP goalie Delayne Brian. Thank you to everyone at The Canadian Women's Hockey League, all the players, members of the media I met this season and to the fans.
Since October I have been covering the Toronto Furies of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) for the team/league. Now that the regular season has been completed it's time for a photo wrap up.
I also want to give a shoutout to a few people that had a hand in me getting to where I am in this. Steve "Dangle" Glynn for if he had not had Sasky Stewart the Director of Communications and Marketing for the CWHL on as a guest to his podcast, who ended up putting me in contact with the Toronto Furies GM Rebecca Micheal and then everything fell into place and well here we are now, writing this during the off week of the CWHL before playoff weekend.
Last but certainly not least I want to thank the players and coaching/training staff of the Toronto Furies. Without any of you putting in all the hard work you all do, well I wouldn't have been able to take these photos. So thank you all, but now it's playoff time.
Here are my favourite photos from 2015.
